“Jeremy O'Keefe's WRESTLING is Cassavetes by way of Dawson's Creek.” -Elwood Reid, novelist/writer/producer,
If I Don’t Six, Close to Home
“Jeremy O'Keefe has earned a spot alongside Bujalski, Swanberg and the Duplass Brothers in the Mumblecore Movement. He impressed the hell out of me with what he was able to accomplish with such low budget constraints."
-Nick Case, associate producer, Wild Tigers I Have Known
"There's something so touching about WRESTLING. This
film is subtle and uncompromising. O'Keefe did exactly what he's supposed to do – created a landscape that I won't soon forget. It is a beautiful picture and a stellar freshman effort.”
- Todd Milliner, writer/producer, Hazy Mills Productions

Filmed entirely on location in Wilmington, Delaware, wrestling is not just another teen movie. By exposing the inconsistencies and complexities embracing middle-class teen life, wrestling strips the gloss off of the American teen movie and challenges the suburban stereotypes purported by its celluloid counterparts (She’s All That, Can’t Hardly Wait and the American Pie series).
wrestling confronts how we negotiate our memories by blurring the images and emotions of the transitional time between high school and college. In doing so, the line between documentary and narrative film is also blurred, offering audiences the chance to celebrate teenage love and loss like never before.
Features music from Delaware's DAY ACTION BAND, PAPAS FRITAS, SPLITFACES and many more!
